Mission/Purpose
The mission of the Financial Technology (FinTech) program is to educate, train, and develop students for careers in the financial industry. The curriculum focuses on the study of current technologies as their application in the financial industry. The program emphasizes regulatory and ethical considerations and the technology used in the preparation and analysis of financial data as well as the development of critical thinking skills so that students enter the industry well prepared.
Program Overview
The Advanced Technical Certificate (A.T.C.) is exclusively for the student who has earned an associate’s degree from an accredited institution and is now seeking a career change or certification. The Financial Technology (FinTech) courses identified in this A.T.C. will provide employment opportunities for graduates that may include banks, credit unions, and other finance-related organizations.
All courses in this technical certificate are also included in the program degree. Students have the option of applying all of the coursework completed in this program toward a bachelor’s degree.
A minimum grade of C or higher must be achieved in all professional coursework.
Math Pathway
Students in this program are not required to complete math courses unless they are listed as part of the certificate program. If you plan to pursue the degree program in this same field, please note that this certificate articulates directly into a degree that includes a Statistical Reasoning math pathway. Application Procedure
This is a Selective Access program. Only those who meet the criteria below are eligible to be admitted. Applicants must submit an application for admission into A.T.C. in Financial Technology (FinTech) program. The following criteria apply:
Applicants must have graduated with at least an associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
Applicants must have a 2.0 overall grade point average.
Review Deadline
Applications must be submitted by August 15 each year to guarantee review with classes starting in the fall term.
