Admissions Overview
Apply for admission. Complete your online application and pay your $25 application fee.
Apply for Florida residency for tuition purposes:
Log in to your myFSCJ account.
Select the "Tasks" tile in your Student Center.
Select the "Residency Declaration" item and submit all information requested to validate your residency status.
Monitor your texts, emails, and phone calls for any communication from Student Records during the review process.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit the FAFSA website to access the online financial aid application. The FSCJ federal school code is 001484.
Submit official transcripts to FSCJ from your high school and all colleges or universities you have attended in the past.
Discuss college placement/assessment. Visit the Assessment and Certification webpage to schedule your testing appointment.
Complete the online orientation module. Login to your myFSCJ account and select “Online Orientation” under the Useful Links section.
Complete First Term Advising. Visit any campus Advising Center as a walk-in or schedule an academic advising appointment via the Advising Services webpage.
Obtain your Student ID Card and parking decal. Visit a campus Student Services Center or the Library and Learning Commons to get your Student ID card. To obtain a parking decal, follow the FSCJ Parking Permit Registration Instructions.
Admissions Requirements
As provided herein, requirements for admission shall be approved by the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees and shall be reflected in the College catalog. Individuals who are eligible for admission under Florida Statute will be admitted subject to the following requirements.
General Admissions Eligibility Criteria
Individuals under the age of 18 with a significant disciplinary criminal record may be excluded from admission at the discretion of College Administration.
Pursuant to §1001.64(8)(a), F.S., the College may consider the past actions of any individual applying for admission or enrollment. The College may deny admission or enrollment to an individual because of misconduct if determined to be in the best interest of the College. An individual designated as a sexual predator by any court will not be admitted to or enrolled with the College. An individual identified as a sexual offender by any court may be considered for admission or enrollment using procedures established by the administration.
Students who have been declared a sexual predator or sexual offender admitted prior to the adoption of this Rule and are in continuous enrollment may continue their education. Those admitted will be allowed on a College campus only as may be required to complete a program of study at the College.
Selective Admissions: Some associate degree, baccalaureate degree and technical certificate programs have additional admissions requirements as established by the College administration, State Statute or State Board of Education rule. Admission requirements for all Selective Admission programs will be published on the program curriculum pages of the College’s catalog.
Student Location
Pursuant to 34 CFR §600.9(c)(2)(i)-(iii), FSCJ must make a determination regarding the State in which a student is located at the time of the student’s initial enrollment in an educational program and any time a student’s location changes after that. For this reason, all individuals are required to enter their correct home address when completing the FSCJ admissions application.
