Foreign Language Requirement
Students must meet a foreign language requirement before graduation. The requirement may be satisfied by completing one of the approved two-course sequences in the same foreign language or sign language listed below with a grade of C or higher in each course or by meeting one of the alternative options described below.
Alternative options that will be considered include the following:
Successful completion of two sequential high school credits in one foreign language as listed in Florida Statute 1007.262 and DOE Board Rule 6A.10.02412. The student is responsible for sending official high school transcripts to the Registrar’s Office for evaluation.
Submitting an English-translated high school course-by-course transcript from a country of origin. Exit test scores or certificates are not acceptable. Students must have an English translation performed, at the student’s expense, by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). A list of approved evaluators is available on the NACES website.
Appropriate College Level Examination Program (CLEP) level one and level two scores in French, German, and Spanish.

Note: While American Sign Language (ASL) coursework may be used to satisfy the College’s foreign language requirement, it may not satisfy foreign language requirements for transfer to some institutions. Students should consult their intended transfer institution.
