Program Overview

This Chemical Laboratory Specialist certificate provides you with exposure to the principles of biological sciences, chemistry, and mathematics necessary for success in a scientific work environment. If you are looking for a fast paced non-desk career, this may be the area for you! Chemical laboratory technicians work under the direction of a laboratory supervisor and have diverse work environments that range from government laboratories to manufacturing laboratory environments. Many of the courses contained within this certificate are also prerequisites for allied health and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) degree programs.

Math Pathway

Students in this program are not required to complete math courses unless they are listed as part of the certificate program. If you plan to pursue the degree program in this same field, please note that this certificate articulates directly into a degree that includes an Algebra Through Calculus math pathway.
