Effective Start Dates Determine the Content That is Published in Each College Catalog

Coursedog utilizes effective dating to determine which version of a program is published in each catalog.

Programs with effective start dates that are before the listed effective start date will appear in the listed catalog year.

Programs with effective start dates that are after the listed effective start date will not appear in the listed catalog year.

As of April 17, 2024:

Catalog Year	Effective Start Date	Effective Start Term
2023-2024	Jan. 1, 2024	Spring Term 2024
2024-2025	Aug. 21, 2024	Fall Term 2024

Note: Catalogs are generally published with August effective start dates. If necessary, the effective start dates may change to January to capture changes that are effective in spring term or May to capture changes that are effective in summer term. Contact Ayshea or Jennifer to determine the exact date. To view the current catalog effective start dates, go to Catalog >> Settings, click on the catalog ID and scroll down to select Dates (not terms) under Select Effective Dating.

Special Consideration

If updates are required to a program that has multiple effective dates and those dates result in different program details appearing in separate catalogs, then multiple program revisions will be required.

For example:

IF a program has both a Jan. 1, 2024 effective start date and a Aug. 21, 2024 effective start date, resulting in one version of the program being published in the 2023-2024 catalog and another version being published in the 2024-2025 catalog.

AND this program requires updates in both the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 catalogs.

THEN the update needs to be updated in the Jan. 1, 2024 effective start date and in the Aug. 21, 2024 effective start date.
