Mission/Purpose

The mission of the Entrepreneurship in Interior Design program is to educate, train, and develop students for careers in the interior design industry related to running an interior design business. The purpose of the program is to educates students on the business side of design and prepare students for employment in the interior design, architecture or construction industry that leads to state licensing and registration as an interior designer. The program may also be used to provide supplemental or required training for persons previously or currently employed within the career cluster.

The Program

The Advanced Technical Certificate (A.T.C.) is exclusively for the student who has earned an associate’s degree from an accredited institution and is seeking to further enhance their education and career training. The curriculum focuses on the study of business concepts and their application to interior design entrepreneurs. The program focuses on financial accounting, computer applications for business and economics, principles of management and marketing, project management as well as hands-on training and field experiences. This balanced approach enhances the educational experience and provides a sound foundation for distinctive success in the field of interior design.

A minimum grade of C or higher must be achieved in all professional coursework.

Application Procedure

This is a Selective Access program option. Only those who meet the criteria below are eligible to be admitted. Applicants must submit an application for admission into A.T.C. in Entrepreneurship in Interior Design program. The following criteria apply:

  1. Applicants must have graduated with at least an associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.

  2. Applicants must have a 2.0 overall grade point average.
