MEA 1266C - Laboratory Procedures II (Credit Hours: 4)

Description

The course provides students with knowledge of clinical microscopy techniques and procedures that may be performed in CLIA-exempt laboratories. The student will gain valuable insight of laboratory procedures and be able to recognize signs and symptoms that may indicate to the physician a need for laboratory testing. This course introduces the student to the origin and morphology of blood cells. Normal and abnormal functions of the blood cells will be covered. The student will also receive additional training and instructions both in the laboratory and lecture as to the proper collection, testing and significance of laboratory tests.
