Description

This course will provide students with a supervised experience in a Health Information Management Department. The course also provides a review of the key components of AHIMA competencies outlined in the domains. Emphasis will be placed on intermediate functions of advanced coding of outpatient and inpatient records, health care statistics, cancer registries and information systems. Additionally, the course assists students in preparing to take the National Certification Examination for Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT).
