Description
This course is an overview of dance in cultural and historical context, from early documentation to current practices, including the emergence of new dance forms through migration, colonization, and globalization. As a humanities course, students will study dance within social context through analysis and investigation of dance and other forms to include causal influences and relationships between dance expressions and context. This course fulfills the Gordon Rule writing requirement and must be completed with a grade of C or higher pursuant to State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030.
