Description

Upon completion of this course students will be able to describe how children acquire language and literacy. Additionally, students will learn how to design early childhood learning environments to promote oral and written language development with children 0-8 years of age. Special emphasis will be on planning for individual children, including English language learners, and their unique learning needs and exceptionalities. Finally, the importance of family, home and community connections will be considered throughout the course.
