Description

This course is a critical study of selections from American Literature: 1865 to the Present. American Literature is studied in the context of historical and cultural developments to ensure that students appreciate how the humanities interact with broader issues in human culture in America and beyond. This course is suitable for students without prior literature study experience and can be taken as a stand-alone course or as a part of the two-course series with American Literature: Colonial Times to 1900.

Prerequisites

ENC 1101 or ENC 1101C each with a grade of C or higher

Corequisites

None

Conditions

This course fulfills the Gordon Rule writing requirement and must be completed with a grade of C or higher pursuant to State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030.
