ACR 0001 - HVAC/R Fundamentals (Credit Hours: None)

Description

This course is a continuation of the Introduction to HVACR with an emphasis on HVAC/R Fundamentals, designed to teach entry-level job skills. Topics include basic refrigeration cycle, valves, accessories, piping dehydration, refrigerant charging and recovery (discharging), installation procedures, multiple systems, troubleshooting, business ethics, employee and employer responsibilities, personal and industrial safety, and compressors. Further in-depth study of topics includes wiring diagram symbols, schematic wiring diagram circuits, schematic wiring diagram exercises, electric meter, alternating current fundamentals, single-phase motor theory, single motor testing, motor protection, troubleshooting, electrical wiring, and electrical components. Also included are studies on topics such as the refrigeration cycle, component accessories, piping, dehydration, refrigerant charging and recovery (discharging), shop safety, installation procedures, multiple systems, troubleshooting, compressors, control wiring, and personal and industrial safety.
