The Program

The technical certificate in Homeland Security and Emergency Manager will prepare students for employment in the field of emergency management with a specialization in homeland security. It will provide education and training for individuals seeking to pursue careers in these areas. The program gives the student the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively manage a comprehensive homeland security management program. The student will be provided with a working knowledge of all the basic tenets in emergency management and homeland security that are encompassed in the phases of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The student develops knowledge of community planning, coordination, and management functions. The purpose is to design and improve homeland security capabilities and command and control operations of major and catastrophic disasters.
