Mission/Purpose
The mission of the Aviation Operations program is to serve our students and the air transportation industry by providing outstanding education and training in airport and airline management, air traffic control, aircraft dispatching, and other aspects of aviation operations. By educating students on current aviation laws, FAA regulations, global trends, and new technologies, the program produces graduates that are well prepared for careers in aviation management, operations and administration, and air traffic control.
The Program
This program prepares students to pursue a career in aviation technical, administrative, or management positions with both public and private aviation operations. Students gain the knowledge and skills required to begin a career with the airlines, cargo operators, airport FBO’s, airport operators, or the FAA as an air traffic controller.
Students following the Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) “track” will learn about operating procedures, air traffic regulations, the regulatory responsibility and authority of the Federal Aviation Administration as well as gain hands-on experience on Tower and En Route simulators.
Students interested in the AT-CTI program, and applying to the FAA as an air traffic controller, should closely examine the FAA Air Traffic Control guidelines.
A minimum grade of “C” or better must be achieved in all professional core courses.
