AHS 0466C - Civics, Part A (Online) The Civics course consists of the following content area strands: American History, World History, Geography, Humanities, Economics, and Civics and Government. The primary content for this course pertains to the principles, functions, and organization of the American government and political system; the roles, rights, responsibilities of United States citizens; and methods of active participation in the political system. Content should include, but is not limited to, the American constitutional government, free-enterprise system, structure and functions of local, state and national government within constitutional and economic frameworks, political and economic decision-making issues, rights and responsibilities of citizenship, and the importance of political participation. Part A is equivalent to the first semester of this year-long course.
The purpose of this course is to formalize and extend concepts related to Civics and Government with a focus on the American government and political system, roles of citizens, and methods of participation in the political system. Part A is equivalent to the first semester of this year long-course.
