EMS 2667 - Paramedic Clinical II

This is the second clinical course in the sequence of instruction for the Paramedic program. Medical facility experience includes: operating room, morgue, critical care units, labor and delivery, and field experience with an ALS provider and a community service opportunity.

Prerequisites: EMS 2601, EMS 2601L and EMS 2666
Corequisites: EMS 2602 and EMS 2602L
Credit Hours: 3
Contact Hours: 6.4 hospital clinical; 4.0 field clinical (all hours gratis); 0.53 community services (all hours gratis)
Conditions: A minimum grade of C or higher is required.

401.2701(1)(b) 2. F.S.: Paramedic programs must be available only to Florida certified emergency medical technicians or an emergency medical technician applicant who will obtain Florida certification prior to completion of phase one of the paramedic program.

Community service (all hours gratis) are a requirement of this course because it helps students engage in the course material in new ways, reinforce skills, and encourages students to become aware of, and responsive to, our community’s needs.

Must be admitted to the Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.) (2251) (A.S.) or Paramedic (6393) (T.C.)
