EMS 2659 - Paramedic Capstone

This course is the capstone and final course in the sequence of instruction for the Paramedic program. The student will be expected to function as a team leader onboard Advanced Life Support transport vehicles to provide patient care as well as interact with hospital staff and Community Service opportunity.

Prerequisites: EMS 2666, EMS 2667, and EMS 2668
Corequisites: EMS 2681 and EMS 281L
Credit Hours: 2
Contact Hours: 11.2 capstone (all hours gratis); 0.53 community service (all hours gratis)
Conditions: A minimum grade of C or better is required.

401.2701(1)(b) 2. F.S.: Paramedic programs must be available only to Florida certified emergency medical technicians or an emergency medical technician applicant who will obtain Florida certification prior to completion of phase one of the paramedic program.

Community service (all hours gratis) are a requirement of this course because it helps students engage in the course material in new ways, reinforce skills, and encourages students to become aware of, and responsive to, our community’s needs.

Must be admitted to the Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.) (2251) (A.S.) or Paramedic (6393) (T.C.)
