EDF 1005 - Introduction to Education

This course is designed to provide an overview of the comprehensive education system in America and beyond. From global to local, it focuses on 21st century teacher preparation examining the history, philosophy, governance, law, and ethics of education. Throughout this course, varying student populations concentrating on student needs regarding diversity, accommodations, learning styles, differentiation, standards, and assessment will be examined. Enrolled students will have an opportunity to narrow their own philosophy and professional goals as well as gain insight into lesson delivery and planning. This course includes field experience activities.
