Description

This course surveys the evolution of world civilizations since 1500. This course examines the development of political, intellectual, social, cultural, and economic developments across the globe, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Time allocation and sequences of topics will be arranged to reflect each professor's particular strategies and method of organization. The course explores how other cultures and their histories have, or continue to, influence the current world. The course may be organized according to themes or areas of focus that an instructor may be using; it may be organized chronologically; or it may be a combination of approaches. Topical approaches can also be utilized and may reflect the special topics being covered by various sections of this course.
