Mission/Purpose

The mission of the Real Estate Sales Agent program is to assist students in their quest for a Real Estate Sales License by providing the required qualifying pre-licensing education to potential Real Estate Sales agents. This program is based on State-mandated curriculum and class hours which prepare students for the State Licensing Exam. By offering in class and online, it optimizes educational opportunities for both local and state-wide students.

Certification and Licensing

Completion of this course will prepare you for the real estate licensure exam. Please note that the State of Florida requires fingerprinting and a background check, which may prevent you from obtaining licensure.  View the following Information for Applicants With a Criminal History.

Graduation Requirements

In order to be awarded a Postsecondary Training certificate, students must have met the following requirements.

  1. Students must fulfill all academic requirements for the chosen program of study as outlined in the Florida State College at Jacksonville Catalog and curriculum.
  2. Earn minimum prescribed clock hours for the chosen program of study with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (“C”) on a 4.0 scale on all courses that apply to the chosen program of study.
  3. Complete a minimum of 25 percent of the total clock hours required for a certificate’s program requirements at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
  4. Students must have fulfilled all obligations, financial or otherwise, to the College before they may graduate.
  5. Students must earn a TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) score that meets or exceeds the program’s exit requirement, if applicable.

Note: Students are cautioned to provide particular attention to the following statements.

  1. A student’s graduation date will be the date of the end of the College term in which the student has fulfilled all academic requirements. (The removal of an incomplete grade does not affect students’ graduation dates, since the grade change is effective at the end of the term in which the incomplete grade was assigned rather than the term in which the incomplete work was made up.)
  2. Students who enter under this catalog (2014/2015) must graduate by the end of the Summer Term 2019. After the Summer Term 2019 the 2014/2015 catalog requirements will no longer be in effect and the student must choose a new catalog year within the current 5 year active catalogs.  Changes to requirements as mandated by law or by rule of the District Board of Trustees may supersede this provision.
  3. Many courses in this catalog have prerequisite requirements and/or corequisite courses listed in the course descriptions. Students are advised to be guided by these requirements.
