CJK 0092 - Critical IncidentsAt the conclusion of this course, students will understand local emergency response plans, law enforcement duty-to-act requirements, and the role of law enforcement officers as first responders. They will also know how to respond to an active shooter incident, plan for response to a natural disaster and be able to identify weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and properly respond to a WMD incident, including IEDs and VBIEDs. Students will be aware of hazardous material class, name or identification number, identify actions to take to isolate a hazmat incident and choose protective actions to take in accordance with the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) and recognize the indicators of and paraphernalia used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Lastly, student will be able to describe the indicators of chemical suicide, properly respond to a bomb threat, assess the scene, and search a building or suspected bomb site. Contact Hours: 44
